Theresa Hoover is a dedicated music educator, speaker, and writer who specializes in leveraging technology to enhance music education.
With extensive experience working with hundreds of teachers through workshops, presentations, and graduate classes, Theresa excels at helping educators streamline their workflows and engage students using Google Workspace tools.
Currently pursuing a PhD in Music Learning and Teaching at Arizona State University, Theresa also teaches undergraduate and graduate music education courses. She has a rich background in teaching instrumental, general, and vocal music, with her most recent position being a middle school band director in Northern Virginia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Penn State University and a master’s degree in wind conducting from West Chester University.
A Google for Education Certified Trainer, Google Certified Innovator, and Noteflight Learn Ambassador, Theresa is a recognized presenter at local, regional, and national conferences. She frequently collaborates with teachers to integrate technology into their music classrooms. Additionally, she teaches graduate courses for music educators as an adjunct professor at the University of the Arts and VanderCook College of Music.
Theresa is the author of Empowering Ensembles With Technology, and the co-author of Pass the Baton: Empowering All Music Students. She co-hosts the podcast Pass the Baton: Empowering Students in Music Education.
When not teaching, Theresa enjoys reading, running, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Dizzy.
